This unconventional lightweight to midweight twill won us over with its subtle herringbone weave! Close up, you can see the contrast between warp and weft thread, but from farther away it looks deep and textural. Made from 100% organic cotton, this GOTS-certified textile features a super soft hand - it feels so lovely against the skin. While it has more drape than a typical twill, it's still a good choice for more structured garments like pants, lightweight jackets, dresses, jumpsuits and skirts.

Always pre-wash and/or pretreat fabric before sewing! It’s important to remove any chemical sizing applied during manufacturing, both so it’s safe to handle against delicate skin, and to avoid any residue that may accumulate on your iron. Pre-washing also gives you a better sense of the true drape and handfeel of a fabric, since fabric often feels more crisp and stiff before it’s been washed. As a general rule, we recommend washing and drying fabric in the same way you intend to wash your finished garment. Be sure to separate brights and colours, as some dyes and prints may run the first few times you wash them. It’s important to wash and dry cotton to remove any potential shrinkage down the road.

Machine wash in warm water and tumble dry on medium or hot. More delicate cottons like voile, double gauze or embroidered cottons should be washed by hand or on the delicate cycle. Use a hot iron when pressing.
