TRY IT WITH:

Lyocell twill has fast become one of the most popular fabric choices for modern sewists and it’s easy to see why! With an elegant, fluid hand and a subtle twill weave, lyocell drapes like an absolute dream. With a sueded, almost sandwashed finish, it feels amazing against the skin and ages beautifully. We suggest using it for dresses, blouses, skirts, drapey pants and jumpsuits. Fully opaque, no lining is needed for this fabric.

Always pre-wash and/or pretreat fabric before sewing! It’s important to remove any chemical sizing applied during manufacturing, both so it’s safe to handle against delicate skin, and to avoid any residue that may accumulate on your iron. Pre-washing also gives you a better sense of the true drape and handfeel of a fabric, since fabric often feels more crisp and stiff before it’s been washed. As a general rule, we recommend washing and drying fabric in the same way you intend to wash your finished garment. Be sure to separate brights and colours, as some dyes and prints may run the first few times you wash them. Viscose, rayon and tencel have a tendency to shrink quite a bit, so we suggest washing at least once to remove as much shrinkage before sewing. Wash in cool water on the delicate cycle, and line dry or tumble dry on low. Finished garments should be hand washed with cool water to ensure minimal shrinkage. Use a medium iron when pressing.

So soft

I made Pietra pants in this beautiful fabric. The first pants I have made that I actually want to wear. The fabric is very soft and felt great with a beautiful drape. There are some minor wrinkles at the end of the day, but not sloppy wrinkles. I had so many compliments on the fabric my pants were made of! The coral color is exactly as pictured on my screen. I wish this fabric came in more colors. I love the descriptions and recommended patterns on this site, it makes online fabric purchasing much easier for someone just returning to sewing after many years. Delivery was fast to the US (Pennsylvania).
Thanks to Heather for her wonderful instructional videos in “Learn to Sew”!

Coral Twill Review

The fabric is gorgeous and arrived very well packaged. I have not sewn the garment planned yet ( a shirt) but the weight is exactly what I am looking for and it’s obvious that it won’t wrinkle much. The colour is as pictured, an important consideration when one isn’t in the fabric store.
