It took us some time to find the perfect linen that meets our high-quality standards, so we’re thrilled to offer this exceptional range of midweight linen! Part of our Core Collection of fabrics, this linen is made in Europe, Oeko-Tex 100 Certified, and destined to be your new favourite every day, every way fabric. It features a versatile midweight that works equally well for soft, casual looks and more tailored applications and has been pre-softened/washed so it’s incredibly soft off the roll - it will only get better with age and wear*. While it holds a crisp edge when pressed, it also has a deliciously springy drape and a pronounced, slightly rustic weave. Linen is naturally resilient, breathable, hypo-allergenic, anti-bacterial, and durable. It is incredibly easy to sew with and care for, not to mention delightful to wear due to its thermoregulating properties, keeping you cool in summer and warm in winter. This linen will work for a wide variety of garments like casual jackets, tops, button-downs, dresses, jumpsuits and relaxed trousers. Fully opaque, it does not require a lining.

*To provide you with the most accurate fabric description, we also ran a test wash. We’re happy to report that we didn’t experience any colour bleeding or fading and that the fabric got even softer to the touch after only washing it once. Please scroll to the last picture to see the unpressed laundered linen! We love the inherent natural creases and crumples; they are what give linen its relaxed, soft feel.

Oeko-Tex Standard 100 Certified, Made in Europe

Linen is one of the most sustainable textiles available; it grows quickly, doesn’t exhaust the soil, doesn’t require pesticides or chemicals to farm, and is naturally biodegradable. This linen fabric is Oeko-Tex Standard 100 Certified, ensuring it is free of harmful substances. Our supplier has been producing the highest quality linen for more than 60 years in Eastern Europe, a region well-known for its tradition of heritage linen production. They use a flax plant grown in Europe. Their factory runs exclusively on renewable energy, all their manufacturing facilities are located close together to reduce CO2 transportation emissions, and they are active participants in the Fashion Revolution movement, which fosters more transparency about working conditions in the textile industry.

Care Instructions

Wash

Always pretreat fabric before sewing to remove chemical sizing from the manufacturing process. Pre-washing also gives you a better sense of the true drape and handfeel of a fabric. We recommend washing and drying fabric in the same way you intend to wash your finished garment. Be sure to separate brights and colours, as some dyes and prints may run the first few times you wash them.

Long-Term Care

Linen can withstand high heat when washing and drying. Choose warm or hot water when machine washing (choose a cooler temperature for colours). Tumble dry on hot, and remove when slightly damp to help eliminate wrinkles.

Fabric Tips

Press your fabric before cutting out your pattern pieces. Use a hot iron when pressing.

Just as described online!

The color and description is exactly what I'd hoped for based on the online description, so it works great for my project.

Perfect weight for a nice summer dress

I bought this to make a slip dress. The pattern called for a heavier weight fabric. The pattern wasn't so great but the fabric was fabulous. Nice hand and drape. Perfect weight for the dress. No need to line. Felt soft against the skin.

Great linen with really nice colors

First time working with linen, so I don’t have other comparison points, but the color looks great (I got the matcha), very easy to work with, and honestly I don’t think the price can be beat for real linen! I used it for men’s pants. Completely opaque, and soft enough that I didn't need to line it. Overall, very happy with my purchase!

Gorgeous

I was initially looking for navy blue linen to make the Linchen Duster by Sew Liberated.
Ocean Blue was the next closest and I'm so glad it was! This colour is way more captivating than navy.
Not only that but I give the quality of the material 5 stars as well. I have bought linen direct from the mills in Lathia, and this material is just as good.
I pre-treated it using a dry hot iron, then washed in hot and dried on high heat.
Beautifully soft with light crinkles. Love it!
