Certified Organic Made in Canada
Our supplier is a Quebec-based company that creates and designs organic and eco-friendly fabrics. They select the highest quality certified organic cotton from India, grown in a controlled environment where no chemical pesticides or chemicals are used. Knitted in our hometown of Montreal, the textiles are then sent to Ontario for finishing using a non-toxic dyeing process in a closed-loop system that reuses water and textile waste.
Organic Cotton Bamboo Interlock Knit - White
Comfort and pamper your skin with this cloud soft interlock t-shirt knit, produced locally here in Montreal, Canada! Made from bamboo and certified organic cotton, it features an incredibly soft hand on both sides and 70% stretch on the cross-grain. We love the way this knit interlock fabric is produced; woven like a double knit, it is thicker, stronger, and a bit more stretchy than your typical jersey. Since it’s also more stable, it doesn't stretch out of shape as easily and won’t curl at the edges. Midweight with a moderate drape, it's perfect for luxurious t-shirts and lighter weight loungewear like joggers and cardigans. Please note this fabric is woven in a tubular format, which means it comes knit in a round tube with no selvedge edge. It makes it easy to cut doubled pattern pieces, but you'll need to cut it open it if you want to cut on a single layer.
Always pretreat fabric before sewing to remove chemical sizing from the manufacturing process. Pre-washing also gives you a better sense of the true drape and handfeel of a fabric. We recommend washing and drying fabric in the same way you intend to wash your finished garment. Be sure to separate brights and colours, as some dyes and prints may run the first few times you wash them.
Bamboo should be hand washed with cool water, or machine washed on the delicate cycle using gentle laundry detergent. Tumble dry on low heat. Do not use chlorine bleach as it will yellow the fibers. Use a cool iron when pressing.
