We fell hard for this midweight cotton in a variety of sophisticated, muted shades. The dimension of the textured weave gives a solid dose of character. With a crisp hand, it’s a lovely all-purpose workhorse, suitable for a wide variety of garments like dresses, pants, skirts, tops and jumpsuits. Fully opaque, no lining is needed for this fabric.

Always pretreat fabric before sewing to remove chemical sizing from the manufacturing process. Pre-washing also gives you a better sense of the true drape and handfeel of a fabric. We recommend washing and drying fabric in the same way you intend to wash your finished garment. Be sure to separate brights and colours, as some dyes and prints may run the first few times you wash them.

It’s important to wash and dry cotton to remove any potential shrinkage down the road. Machine wash in warm water and tumble dry on medium or hot. More delicate cottons like voile, double gauze or embroidered cottons should be washed by hand or on the delicate cycle. Use a hot iron when pressing.

favorite cotton!

I have never before sewn with such a lovely cotton! I was pleasantly surprised by the texture, drape, and movement of this fabric. It is definitely appropriate for garments, unlike a quilting cotton.

So versatile!

I will soon have two pairs of pants in this fabric - one in plum and one in this stunning soft navy. Having worn the plum ones for several weeks now, I can say they are a perfect weight for a cooler day or eve in summer. I've had lots of compliments! The navy will take me into fall. I'm trying the navy in a simple pattern of my own drafting, basically adding front pockets and a little ease to my sloper.

Textured cotton with silver

Quality of fabric is beautiful, will make a special but simple top.

Very nice fabric, perfect weight for Fall

Perfect for the Pietra pants, made mine in wide leg style. A bit less heft than denim and not as stiff. No stretch at all. Easy to layout, cut and sew. I’ll buy more of this for a Fall jacket.

Lovely!

Used a few yards to make a popover Kalle in the shirtdress length. This fabric takes an iron beautifully, cuts nicely, and is stable for sewing (can you tell I'm new?). It produced a really lovely finished product that I'll be happy to wear. The texture looks kinda similar to flannel, but it's not fuzzy and feels much, much lighter. Very happy with my purchase!
