For more than 30 years, our supplier has been sourcing high-quality handspun cotton yarn called Khadi, which is then traditionally weaved by artisans in a family-oriented homeworking environment. With its ethical sourcing and fair supply chain management, our supplier has had a positive impact on the traditional weaving community and the environment, through job creation, artisan empowerment, water conservation and a reduced carbon footprint.

This simple handwoven cotton "checks" all the boxes (groan). With its classic check pattern, rustic yet soft hand, crisp drape, and midweight heft, it's perfect for any level of sewist to transform into... practically any garment. You really can't ask for much better (but we appreciate the challenge.) This artisanal fabric has been handspun and handwoven on traditional looms by skilled artisans using azo-free dyed cotton yarn. We see it transformed into any application where you want a touch of crisp cotton structure - think collared shirts, shirtdresses, and eye-catching trousers. Fully opaque, it does not require a lining.
Please note that any order over 5 yards may come in multiple cuts, due to the handwoven nature of the fabric.
From our studio in beautiful Montreal, Canada, we are delighted to ship to makers worldwide. For US & Canadian customers, shipping is free on orders over $150. You will be emailed when your order is ready for shipping; a tracking number will be provided when applicable. After you've been notified, average shipping times for the US + Canada is 3-7 business days. International shipments may take anywhere from 12-40 days depending on your location. International customers may be charged VAT depending on their location. Customs and duties on international shipments are the responsibility of the customer.
