Véronik is our take on a luxurious robe, an indispensable and elevated design for cozy time at home, or as an unexpected layering piece for out on the street.

The Véronik Robe comes in two lengths, hitting at mid-calf, or just above the knee. Choose between a traditional collar band, or a notched collar for architectural interest. The sleeves come in two lengths: elbow length with a facing (perfect for adding a pop of fabric contrast) or wrist length with a folded hem. All views include roomy slanted pockets and can be tied with a traditional full sash, or looped through the side seam openings to create unexpected volume in the back.

Sizes:  0-20 and 14-32

Recommended fabric

  • This pattern can be made with a variety of fabrics depending on the desired effect. For a more structured shape, use light to heavy weight wovens such as linen, flannel or cotton poplin. For a drapier effect, use viscose, rayon challis, tencel, cotton voile or silk.

Fabulous Robe

I wanted to make my two daughters something special that would last them for years, and this robe was a fantastic option. I even made one for myself! It is such a clever and easy pattern to sew. I made the longer version for all, but with the shorter sleeve option and french seamed all the seams. I made one in a light cotton seersucker and two in linen fabric and I'm so happy with how they turned out. I highly recommend this pattern!

Favourite make ever!

What a brilliant pattern. I’ve now made 3 of these in different fabrics and several for friends too. Everyone asks me where the jacket is from. Some of my students bought the pattern whilst we were making another pattern during a class. It’s THAT brilliant. Versatile, straightforward, I’m barely out of this jacket. Highly recommend

Veronik

I am very happy with my Veronik. I used a soft cotton batik fabric for a light summer robe. I made the longer length with the traditional front facing and longer sleeves. I went down one size from what the measurements would indicate for me and the robe is plenty roomy. I did not want the robe to be above the knee but the longer length was longer than I wanted so I shortened considerably so that it is just below the knee. When I finished the sleeves they also seemed a bit long. Having already done the hem, I turned the sleeves up on the outside so that the hem seam was showing at the edge and stitched around the top of the hem. Voila! I have what now looks like a cuffed sleeve at a better length for me. The pattern instructions are clear and well-written. I almost skipped the step of putting in the hanging loop. Very glad I didn’t as I use that every day.

I have been looking for a robe pattern to replace my beloved, but very worn summer robe. The Veronik Robe fit the bill with it's classic wrap styling, but with a twist. I love the look of the belled sleeves and the option for a notched neck/front facing. I used a beautiful periwinkle blue linen from my stash, and made the long version. I did size down one size because didn't want a lot of ease (my fabric is on the heavier side). Pattern pieces were well marked and went together easily. Instructions were well written and helpful. I love the details: slant pockets, bell sleeves, notched front facing, and the loop for hanging at the back neckline. I'm thinking this would be a wonderful Christmas present form my daughters and daughter-in-laws!
