Goji Shorts + Skirt Pattern

I LOVE these shorts! Lovely shape and details and super comfy with the elastic waist (that still looks stylish!). I would say this may be more of an intermediate pattern, mainly because of the waistband. Once I sew the two waistband pieces together, I actually like to do the rows of top stitching starting from the outside edge. This guarantees nice even rows of stitches since the seam attachment side isn’t always perfect. You’ll get great results every time with this method! (Recommend doing an 1” of basting of each line to determine the spacing with the buttonhole placement - it’s actually a little less than 5/8”).

I finally finished this pattern after about 3 weeks of effort. For a beginner (made 1 dress and a top prior), this pattern was very difficult. I would definitely say this is a confident beginner pattern. It features buttonholes, the I found the waistband to be difficult, and the instructions were somewhat limited. I had to look up a lot of things on Youtube and guess where I was. I’m sure a more advanced sewist would have no issues and now that I have figured it out, I like the end product, but compared to some other patterns labeled the same difficulty level of True Beginner not Confident Beginner, I was very frustrated and found this difficult. There are no additional resources via video as well to support this pattern so you are truly on your own.
