Patron de Caftan Charlie

My friend and I both made this, and found it was too narrow in the hips. Part of the issue is that the pockets add so much bulk to that area! If you have larger hip/butt then consider grading the sizing. The design is really strait all the way down, so for some of us this doesn't work, and an A-line might fit better. Ugh, I'm going to try to use some of this fabric for something else, as this is unwearable.

I've been wanting to buy this patterns for a few months and couldn't justify it until the heat of summer hit and I needed something comfortable for hot days. The front panel was a bit of a challenge but I did it and am very happy with the results. Another great core pattern!

I've made the Charlie caftan twice since I received the pattern. Both dresses are gorgeous and comfortable, especially on a hot day. I will be making more.

I’m a new sewist, and I’ve picked this pattern for my first big project. I’m doing it in a take your own pattern and material class, so I’m confident it will come out well. Once I’ve made it once, it will be a piece of cake!

Once you get your around the welt band, this is a fantastic design.
