Looking for a showstopping, drapey knit? This Tencel™ modal knit has a petite 2mm rib texture and a gorgeous, subtle sheen - an incredibly soft and silky hand seals the deal. It's the sort of fabric we want to drape ourselves in from head to toe. Midweight with a springy, fluid drape, it's breathable and naturally durable. Featuring a resilient four-way stretch and a dollop of spandex for excellent recovery, this modal is truly unlike any other we've seen. Transform it into a close-fitting turtleneck base layer, an eye-catching jumpsuit, a slinky evening dress, comfy underwear, or a sweet boatneck t-shirt. Fully opaque, it does not require a lining.

Tencel™ Modal fibres are extracted from naturally grown beech wood by an environmentally responsible integrated pulp-to-fibre process that"s self-sufficient in energy and where the used chemicals are recovered rather than released. So its production is far gentler on the environment than other forms of Rayon. It is also fully biodegradable and is renowned for its durability and exceptional softness (it feels twice as soft as cotton).<br>

Wash
Always pretreat fabric before sewing to remove chemical sizing from the manufacturing process. Pre-washing also gives you a better sense of the true drape and handfeel of a fabric. We recommend washing and drying fabric in the same way you intend to wash your finished garment. Be sure to separate brights and colours, as some dyes and prints may run the first few times you wash them.
Long-Term Care
Wash in cool water on the delicate cycle, and line dry or tumble dry on low. Finished garments should be hand washed with cool water to ensure minimal shrinkage.
Fabric Tips
Use a medium iron with a pressing cloth. We recommend starting your project with a brand new ballpoint or stretch needle.

I bought this to make myself a postpartum/mama robe that would feel luxurious on my skin when I might not be feeling my best. I am glad I chose this! It is cooling when it first goes on, then keeps me warm within a few minutes of wear. It has a nice weighty drape and is oh so soft on the skin. I’ve gotten so many compliments on it and it has achieved the goal of making me feel beautiful and cozy. It’s lovely for new born snuggles! I used the free Fleur Robe pattern from Mood Fabrics and added a band cuff which gives it a bit of a vintage look as well as practical for pushing sleeves up out of the way. I want my whole wardrobe made of this fabric! Do yourself a favour and try this out! I found it pretty easy to work with on my serger and my regular machine.
I love the saturated vibrant color, the soft feel, the beautiful drape, ease of sewing and its opaque! Your textiles are high quality, excellent fabrics!
I bought this fabric in black, navy and crimson. I love it! So soft. Perfect drape. I made a Cashmerette Club pattern-the Wexford dress and it is so nice. This fabric sewed up like a dream. Easy to work with. Perfect weight for fall and will take you into early winter easily with a jacket or cardigan. I want all the colors ! I
