In the heart of Montreal's garment district
A light-filled event space for Montreal's makers
1,250 sq ft of open studio on Saint-Laurent, with soft north light, a separate kitchen and room for up to 180 guests.
About the space
Where Montreal's makers meet
For over a century, Chabanel has been where Montreal's clothes get made. Today its old factory floors belong to independent designers, emerging brands and fabric suppliers, and our studio sits right in the middle of it all.
Core Fabrics has always been about the people who make things: independent fashion designers, local brands and home sewists alike. This studio gives that community a place to meet, learn and build together. When makers come together, local and thoughtful fashion becomes a real answer to fast fashion.

The studio
One room, set up your way
An open, modular studio lit by eight tall windows. Arrange it for a standing launch, a seated panel or a hands-on workshop.
Natural light
Eight 70" x 68" north-northeast windows give soft, even daylight from morning to late afternoon, with blinds when you need them. A favourite for shoots.
Flexible furniture
Folding and bistro chairs, large worktables with built-in charging stations, folding tables, and counter-height tables for a bar or buffet.
Kitchen
A separate 900 sq ft kitchen with fridge, stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher and coffee maker. It can also seat 20 guests on its own.
Screen and sound
A 65" smart TV, a PA kit with speakers, mixer and microphone, and a sound technician on request. A full sound system is coming soon.
Wi-Fi
Connections for presenters, staff and guests, ready for slides, livestreams and hybrid events.
Coat check
Racks, hangers, a table and tickets, set up right at the entrance.
Setup and cleanup
We can arrange the room to your layout before you arrive and reset it after you leave.
On-site team
A member of our team opens, closes and is on hand throughout your event.
Accessibility
Step-free entry, elevator access and four single-use, all-gender washrooms on our floor, with 31" door clearance.
