Textured stripe cotton deadstock with a soft sheen. Lightweight and airy with subtle sheerness—perfect for modern tops and shirtdresses.

This textured stripe cotton deadstock comes from an iconic high-end designer based in Montreal. Woven with alternating stripes in cream, white, and black, the fabric features a subtle sheen that catches the light, creating depth and a quietly elevated look. Lightweight with a moderate drape, this cotton cloth is almost fully opaque, with select areas that are slightly sheer—ideal for designs that play with texture, contrast, and layering. The result is a fabric that feels modern and refined while remaining breathable and comfortable to wear. Perfect for tops, blouses, and shirtdresses, this fabric brings understated sophistication and character to any garment, making even simple silhouettes feel considered and chic.

Care Instructions

Wash

Always pretreat fabric before sewing to remove chemical sizing from the manufacturing process. Pre-washing also gives you a better sense of the true drape and handfeel of a fabric. We recommend washing and drying fabric in the same way you intend to wash your finished garment. Be sure to separate brights and colours, as some dyes and prints may run the first few times you wash them.

Long-Term Care

It’s important to wash and dry cotton to remove any potential shrinkage down the road. Machine wash in warm water and tumble dry on medium or hot. More delicate cottons like voile, double gauze or embroidered cottons should be washed by hand or on the delicate cycle.

Fabric Tips

Use a hot iron when pressing.
