Attention lovers of pleats and volume! We are thrilled to introduce our signature crisp cotton poplin, available exclusively at Core Fabrics, made just for us according to our exact specifications. This is a very special poplin, with a luxurious body and crisp drape that holds it's shape and stands up to pleats, folds, gathers, and volume. It almost reminds us of a cotton taffeta; with every move, it whispers the sweet swishy sound of premium craftsmanship, while its smooth, cool touch feels marvellous against the skin. Made from certified organic cotton and dyed with Azo-free dyes, it's not just fabric perfection – it's also made responsibly. Turn it into a structural dress, a crisp button up, a billowy blouse, sharp pants, or a pleated skirt. Due to the tight weave of the fabric, we recommend using fabric clips in lieu of pins when assembling your makes. Almost opaque, it doesn't require a lining.
This fabric was made from 100% certified organic cotton and dyed with Azo-free dyes. Our supplier prioritizes sustainability at every step of the fabric production. They employ an Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) to ensure that water used in production is thoroughly cleaned, removing both toxic and non-toxic materials. This process allows for the reuse of water or its safe release back into the environment, minimizing harm and supporting a healthier planet.

Wash
Always pretreat fabric before sewing to remove chemical sizing from the manufacturing process. Pre-washing also gives you a better sense of the true drape and handfeel of a fabric. We recommend washing and drying fabric in the same way you intend to wash your finished garment. Be sure to separate brights and colours, as some dyes and prints may run the first few times you wash them. You can add half a cup to one cup of vinegar to the final rinse cycle to help set the colours and minimize bleeding. It’s important to wash and dry cotton to remove any potential shrinkage down the road.
Long-Term Care
Machine wash in warm water and tumble dry on medium or hot.

This fabric is lovely, it really is a beautiful crisp poplin. I put it in the washer and dryer, it sewed up beautifully and feels great to wear. Added bonus, as a bike commuter, I can pull it out of my bag when I get to work and it hasn’t gone all wrinkled. There is more of this fabric in my future!
