Melow quilted jacquard knit in black with silver accents. Opaque, with generous stretch and a gentle drape for sweaters, jackets, dresses, and skirts.

After-dark cozy, with a little starlight stitched in.

  • Why You’ll Love It: Cozy and cushioned, with jacquard stitching that creates a puckered, textured hand and plenty of give for easy movement. The deep black with flashes of silver feels sleek and a touch glam, made for the cooler months.
  • How It’s Made: Deadstock fabric locally sourced from indie designer Melow. Two knit layers with a light batting sandwiched between, knitted in Canada from 50% viscose, 48% polyester, and 2% spandex.
  • What To Make: Cozy sweaters, jackets, knit dresses, and skirts. Fully opaque, no lining required.

Care Instructions

Wash

Always pretreat fabric before sewing to remove chemical sizing from the manufacturing process. Pre-washing also gives you a better sense of the true drape and handfeel of a fabric. We recommend washing and drying fabric in the same way you intend to wash your finished garment. Be sure to separate brights and colours, as some dyes and prints may run the first few times you wash them.

Long-Term Care

Wash in cool water on the delicate cycle, and line dry or tumble dry on low. Finished garments should be hand washed with cool water to ensure minimal shrinkage.

Fabric Tips

Use an extra sharp pair of shears or rotary cutter and pattern weights to cut your fabric. Use a medium iron when pressing.
