Care Instructions

Wash

Always pretreat fabric before sewing to remove chemical sizing from the manufacturing process. Pre-washing also gives you a better sense of the true drape and handfeel of a fabric. We recommend washing and drying fabric in the same way you intend to wash your finished garment. Be sure to separate brights and colours, as some dyes and prints may run the first few times you wash them. You can add half a cup to one cup of vinegar to the final rinse cycle to help set the colours and minimize bleeding. It’s important to wash and dry cotton to remove any potential shrinkage down the road.

Long-Term Care

Machine wash on a gentle cycle with cool water and hand to dry or set dryer to the lowest setting to keep the fibres soft and fuzzy.

Fabric Tips

Avoid using iron on the fuzzy fleece side.

Soft and Cozy

I've made sweats for my grandchildren in this fabric and they love the soft, coziness. This time I made a #closetcoremarine top for my daughter-in-law. The top has a relaxed elegance and is a perfect match for the Core Fabrics Pine Ponte.

Can’t wait to sew this up!

I prewashed this fleece (and matching baby rib) and it came out well. It’s very soft and cozy, but a little too stretchy, I thought, for my original plans for a Marlow Sweater. I’m going to make an Elliot Sweater instead, or maybe another Toaster. Can’t wait to get to it.

So soft!

I bought this to make "capelets" for my sisters, and I'm almost finished. The color is gorgeous, and the brushed inside is so very soft. It's easy to sew with. It's not quite as thick as I had imagined, but it's still working great. I also love the way Core Fabrics packages their goods. Nicely labeled and wrapped in tissue, with environmentally friendly packaging.

Stretch Fleece

Washed beautifully, haven’t sewed with it yet but it is so soft. I plan on making a toaster sweater…

Bamboo/Cotton Stretch Fleece

I love, love, this fabric, excellent quality drape and stretch, great to sew, washes and dries beautifully. I have purchased a few colors for sweat shirts with my favorite being the Jarrah Sweater by Megan Nielsen. I was hesitant on buying the Scarlet color because I'm not into red that much but decided to go for it just to have a different color in my wardrobe and so glad that I did because it is more like a berry color which is in my wheel house. Going to do a combo set with a pencil skirt. Highly recommend this fabric!
