Attention, marinière enthusiasts! After an extensive quest for the ultimate Breton stripe jersey proved fruitless, we took matters into our own hands and commissioned a custom creation. The result: a midweight organic cotton jersey knit featuring a medium drape and a captivating black on cream stripe ratio that embodies the essence of the iconic Breton striped shirt. (Approved by a bona fide Bretonne, who has been wearing marinières since childhood and has strong opinions on the subject, and who also happens to be writing this description.) At 280 gsm, this jersey has a wonderful body and heft and straddles the line between mid and heavyweight. It is made from 100% organic cotton and is coloured with GOTS-certified dyes. Incredibly soft to the touch (and only getting better with washing) it is low stretch and very stable – an absolute joy to sew and wear. Truly one of our all-time favourite additions to our roster!
