Core Fabrics is hosting a Sustainable Fashion Contest as part of a flagship industry event in Montreal.

Thank you to all the designers who applied! On Monday, September 21st starting at 5:00 PM, the most sustainable and lasting projects from independent designers and small local brands will be showcased, and three award recipients will be announced — all hosted by Lolitta Dandoy, one of the most inspiring voices in eco-responsible fashion in Québec. The evening is open to all — fashion industry professionals and the general public alike.

Eligibility requirements

  • Have implemented eco-design concepts in fashion and textiles during 2025 and 2026.
  • Be an independent designer based in Québec producing 100% locally.
  • Share your contest registration on Instagram, LinkedIn and via your newsletter.
  • Be available on the evening of the award unveiling, Monday, September 21, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at Core Fabrics, 9320 Saint-Laurent Boulevard, suite 300, Montréal (Chabanel district).

  • Sustainable Sourcing Award — $1,000 offered by Core Fabrics
  • Innovation Award — $1,000 offered by Cirque du Soleil

People's Choice Award —Valued at $1,000 Loft Booth at the Salon des Métiers d'Art du Québec, offered by the Conseil des Métiers d'Art du Québec

A $315 training session offered by CSMO Textiles on Circular Economy Applied to the Technical Textile Industry

A visit to the Cirque du Soleil workshops — exclusively awarded to the Innovation Award recipient

Hands-on, personalized, and individualized coaching for each of the 3 winners, offered by Core Fabrics and Lise-Marie Cayer, an experienced fashion designer specializing in sustainable and local fashion.

Our selection process

Applications will be evaluated by a panel of experts according to the 11 principles of the Design Toolkit adapted by Fashion Takes Action (CCTC) for the Canadian industry — from responsible sourcing and zero-waste design to durability, repairability, and recyclability. Selected projects must demonstrate concrete and measurable actions taken between 2025 and 2026. All criteria are detailed in the registration form.
