This lightweight stretch knit deadstock from Montreal’s eco-brand Melow is a true standout. Its unique texture combines wide vertical ribs with thin diagonal lines, creating a dynamic contrast that brings depth and dimension through a layering of beige and black. Made in Montréal from a lightweight poly-wool blend, this fabric offers a soft touch on both sides, a generous crosswise stretch, and a fluid drape. Perfect for a range of knit garments—from stylish tees and dresses to cozy leggings. Note that it's semi-sheer in places, so you can choose to play up its transparency or add a lining for a fully opaque finish.

This fabric comes from Melow, a beloved indie fashion brand founded by Mélissa Bolduc that seamlessly blends comfort and elegance. Proudly designed and made in Canada, Melow emphasizes using local materials, favouring natural fibres over synthetics. Many of their fabrics are organic and/or locally produced. All garment production takes place in Quebec, minimizing their ecological footprint while supporting the local economy.

Care Instructions

Wash

Always pretreat fabric before sewing to remove chemical sizing from the manufacturing process. Pre-washing also gives you a better sense of the true drape and handfeel of a fabric. We recommend washing and drying fabric in the same way you intend to wash your finished garment. Be sure to separate brights and colours, as some dyes and prints may run the first few times you wash them.

Long-Term Care

Wash in cool water on the delicate cycle, and lay flat to dry or line dry. Finished garments should be hand washed with cool water to ensure minimal shrinkage.

Fabric Tips

Use a medium iron with a pressing cloth. We recommend starting your project with a brand new ballpoint or stretch needle.

From our studio in beautiful Montreal, Canada, we are delighted to ship to makers worldwide. Shipping is free on Canadian and US orders over $150. 

We ship globally! Non Canadian and US orders and orders under 150$ are calculated by weight.

Orders outside of Canada are subject to customs and duties and are the sole responsibility of the customer. Orders to the US under 800$ are duty-free.

We are committed to investing in sustainability initiatives to counteract the environmental impact of shipping. We offset our carbon footprint by contributing funds for every package shipped to supporting projects that remove excess carbon dioxide from the environment.
