Good pattern. Sizing maybe runs big

I made this pattern in a size 6 without any changes. My waist indicates between 2-4 and hips an 8-10. I'm definitely not a traditional size 2 or 4 (I wear mediums and typically size 8 pants) but took a gamble on a 6 wanting it to be tight in the butt and waist. I was worried it might be too tight but ended up being baggy everywhere, too low hanging/loose in the crotch and wouldn't lay flat despite being too large.(I'm 5'3, short torso maybe or not enough curve in the front rise?)Was able to alter to fit and am still happy with the pattern and will use again but with making adjustments and sizing down.
