Vacation culottes

I made the strappy tank top culottes version for my daughter to take on vacation. I made her a size 14 straight out of the package. It fit her perfect! The instructions were easy to follow. This pattern is a definite make again.

Eyecatching Christmas outfit

I made the Sallie Jumpsuit in a red jersey for Christmas Day, no one could believe i made it myself! I shortened the legs a lot before hemming (I'm 5'2") and graded between sizes from the hip of the pants to the waist of the bodice - both alterations worked out great. If you have a long torso or make a smaller size bodice like i did you might want to make a muslin and check the bodice length/waist placement as i had just enough material for the seam allowance at the waist even though I'm high-waisted.

I had never made a lined bodice by this method and it was a little tricky as the right and wrong side of my fabric were very similar so i made a muslin first, marked the pieces, followed the instructions to the letter and I'm very happy with the results. Definitely go for the elastic on the neckline and be as precise as possible when making it up.

I'm planning to make another Sallie in a lighter jersey for summer, maybe Breton stripe bodice and solid pants!

Really easy to sew and looks great

I sewed this in Satin to wear to an autumn wedding. It was really easy to sew, I loved that there were no zips or buttons involved so I could sew it without having to order stuff online (as it was under lockdown).. I had a bit of trouble with the binding where it joins the crotch bit, but I think that was me. It all worked out in the end. I would sew it again.

Love this pattern!

This pattern is so versatile, not just because of the variations but because it looks so good and so different depending on what fabric you choose. I’ve made two so far, a casual animal print dress and a plain black jumpsuit perfect for work and easy to dress up, and I have two more planned so this pattern is proving really good value. Well drafted and easy to follow instructions including a properly lined bodice.
