Tencel™ Modal fibres are extracted from naturally grown beech wood by an environmentally responsible integrated pulp-to-fibre process that"s self-sufficient in energy and where the used chemicals are recovered rather than released. So its production is far gentler on the environment than other forms of Rayon. It is also fully biodegradable and is renowned for its durability and exceptional softness (it feels twice as soft as cotton).<br>

Care Instructions

Wash

Always pretreat fabric before sewing to remove chemical sizing from the manufacturing process. Pre-washing also gives you a better sense of the true drape and handfeel of a fabric. We recommend washing and drying fabric in the same way you intend to wash your finished garment. Be sure to separate brights and colours, as some dyes and prints may run the first few times you wash them. You can add half a cup to one cup of vinegar to the final rinse cycle to help set the colours and minimize bleeding. It’s important to wash and dry cotton to remove any potential shrinkage down the road.

Long-Term Care

Cotton/ Tencel Modal blends may shrink excessively when exposed to high heat. Machine wash in cool water and tumble dry on low.

Fabric Tips

Use a medium iron with a pressing cloth. We recommend starting your project with a brand new ballpoint or stretch needle.

We ship globally! Non Canadian and US orders and orders under 150$ are calculated by weight.

Orders outside of Canada are subject to customs and duties and are the sole responsibility of the customer. Orders to the US under 800$ are duty-free.

So soft

Love love love this fabric, it’s so soft and comfy. I want to make everything out of it now. Please keep it stocked! My one suggestion is that if you’re looking for a fitted garment to size down. I made a top in 100% cotton that had a little negative ease and the same top made in this fabric has some positive ease once the fabric relaxes. It does regain its shape nicely once washed though

So Soft!

I was pleasantly surprised by how extremely soft this fabric is. It feels good to wear. I made a tank top with it and I love it.

Super soft

This rib knit is super soft and stretchy. It’s perfect for close fitting tops. It washes well in the gentle cycle of my machine. It has a very delicate and soft hand, so I recommend following any pattern guidelines about stabilizing seams and using a walking foot on your machine when you sew.

Cotton Tencel Modal Rib Knit

Due to unforseen circumstances I have not yet sewn with this beautiful fabric. It is beyond lovely, perfect weight for summer wear. In a word "luciousness" comes to mind. All of Core Fabrics kits, supplies, fabrics and hardware are top notch.
