Care Instructions

Wash

Always pretreat fabric before sewing to remove chemical sizing from the manufacturing process. Pre-washing also gives you a better sense of the true drape and handfeel of a fabric. We recommend washing and drying fabric in the same way you intend to wash your finished garment. Be sure to separate brights and colours, as some dyes and prints may run the first few times you wash them.

Long-Term Care

It’s important to wash and dry cotton to remove any potential shrinkage down the road. Machine wash in warm water and tumble dry on medium or hot. More delicate cottons like voile, double gauze or embroidered cottons should be washed by hand or on the delicate cycle.

Use a hot iron when pressing.

From our studio in beautiful Montreal, Canada, we are delighted to ship to makers worldwide. Shipping is free on U.S. and Canadian orders over $150. U.S. and Canadian orders ship in 3-7 business days, and international orders take between 12-40 days. All additional customs and duties that may be collected at the border are the sole responsibility of the customer.

Soft and Cozy but beware dark colors bleeding a little

Flannel is soft and has a good weight - not flimsy or stiff like cheaper ones. Only issue I had was the darker colors bled and because I had soaked the fabric in lieu of pre-wash, the red designs left shadows where the fabric had been folded against them. But since these became PJ pants it didn't matter. My advice is prewash with a color grabber sheet.

The fabric is lovely and soft, but shrunk with washing and drying

I bought 7 metres/yards, planning to make 3 pair of adult pj pants and 2 pair of kid pj pants. However, after washing and drying, the width was just over 40" and I managed to cut only the 3 adult pants (and only by cutting the pockets off-grain). I'm really happy with the end-result, but they cost more than I expected (and my grandgirls didn't get their "doggy jams").
