This 100% organic cotton French terry is proudly made in Montréal, Canada! This cozy heavyweight knit has a smooth, soft surface on one side and tiny, cushiony loops on the other, giving it a plush yet breathable feel. With a medium drape and gentle mechanical stretch, it offers just the right amount of structure—substantial without feeling stiff. Fully opaque, it’s an ideal pick for all things comfy, from sweaters and hoodies to joggers and beyond!
Our supplier is a Quebec-based company that creates and designs organic and eco-friendly fabrics. They select the highest quality certified organic cotton from India, grown in a controlled environment where no chemical pesticides or chemicals are used. Knitted in our hometown of Montreal, the textiles are then sent to Ontario for finishing using a non-toxic dyeing process in a closed-loop system that reuses water and textile waste.

Wash
Always pretreat fabric before sewing to remove chemical sizing from the manufacturing process. Pre-washing also gives you a better sense of the true drape and handfeel of a fabric. We recommend washing and drying fabric in the same way you intend to wash your finished garment. Be sure to separate brights and colours, as some dyes and prints may run the first few times you wash them. You can add half a cup to one cup of vinegar to the final rinse cycle to help set the colours and minimize bleeding. It’s important to wash and dry cotton to remove any potential shrinkage down the road.
Long-Term Care
Cotton/synthetic blends may shrink excessively when exposed to high heat. Machine wash in cool water and tumble dry on low.
Fabric Tips
Use a medium iron with a pressing cloth. We recommend starting your project with a brand new ballpoint or stretch needle.
