At Core Fabrics, we love Viscose fabrics. Since viscose is the most widely used form of rayon, the two terms are often used interchangeably. Viscose fabric, rayon and modal is made from sustainable cellulose fibers – most often wood and tree pulp – that are sourced from fast-growing regenerative forests. Since chemicals are required to turn the wood pulp into fibers, viscose fabric is considered to be a semi-synthetic textile. When spun into skirts, dresses, and blouses, viscose fabric has picture-perfect drape, and it plays very well with dye and prints. Makers love modal, rayon & viscose for its top-notch breathability, moisture-wicking properties, and resistance to static, and here you’ll find all our favourite rayon challis fabrics, modal challis fabrics, viscose print fabrics, and some of the exciting new rayon and viscose knits.
