We are thrilled to stock a high-quality, sew-all thread made entirely from recycled water bottles! The raw material for this polyester thread is provided by plastic bottles made from 100% PET (polyethylene terephthalate), which is shredded into flakes, melted and extruded into microfilaments to create a strong, durable thread that can be used on anything from lightweight to heavyweight fabrics, including knits and lingerie. The spools are made from 100% polystyrene and can be fully recycled. Made in Germany by Gütermann, one of the finest sewing suppliers in the world, this fully sustainable thread is currently available in over 50 colours.
If you’ve asked us to choose a coordinating thread with your fabric purchase, we will select the closest shade available. If an exact match is impossible, we’ll choose a coordinating colour that works best, such as choosing the most dominant base colour in a print, or a warm or cool neutral that will blend in with your fabric.
