Sienna is a chic utility jacket inspired by vintage French workwear. Designed for hard-wearing use by makers and artists, it functions as both stylish outerwear and a highly practical layer for use inside the studio.

With a slightly dropped shoulder, Sienna features a crisp notched collar which can be worn buttoned at the neck with an optional snap button. It is unlined and finished with durable seams. Views A & B feature deep hip pockets, a hidden breast pocket and a waist-cinching belt with a D ring closure that can be worn closed, or open by looping the belt in the opposite direction; View A hits at mid-thigh and View B ends at the upper thigh. View C is a short chore jacket with button closure, optional sleeve pockets and a back button placket.

This jacket was fun and turned out very cute. Instructions were easy to follow. I added darts in the back and slimmed up the sides to make it more fitted and I added a lining. I wish this pattern had a lining option but there are several helpful blog posts were helpful.

Sienna maker jacket C type

Great pattern !
At the moment, I'm sewing the C jacket .
As I am a working mum with two little kid and a husband working at night, I'm not progessing really fasts. Photo next time !
I'd love to do the other two versions, I love the side belt !

Lovely but large

This was an easy pattern to put together, well drafted and was quick to sew up. The instructions were very concise and easy to follow. The coat looked good, except, it was quite large on me. I likely will give it away and make another a size smaller. The addition of shoulder pads gives this coat a more professional look. The two piece sleeve is nice but I would make them narrower next time.
I am a professional sewer and drafter and I give this pattern a two thumbs up with the caution to pay close attention to the sizing.

Now I want one!

Excellent pattern! So well drafted that I was able to hack it (view C) and create a chore coat for my husband. However, I originally bought this pattern for myself so my next one will definitely be for me.
