Style, comfort and coverage in one tidy package, the Anaïs Undies are a versatile pattern designed to create a wardrobe of underwear you'll be delighted to wear all day long.

View A is a paneled brief with no side seam and good cheek coverage. Perfect for colour blocking or mixing and matching fabrics, it can be made in a high-rise or low-rise bikini style. View B is a slightly cheekier style designed to eliminate visible panty lines by doubling the back in mesh to create a highly comfortable and seamless effect.

All views have been drafted with and without seam allowances, so they can be made with your choice of fold-over or plush back elastic.

Sizes:  0-20 and 14-32

Recommended fabric:

  • Look for stretch fabrics with excellent recovery. They should contain at least 5% spandex, lycra or elastane, and have a minimum of 50% stretch. We suggest cotton spandex, bamboo/rayon spandex blends, stretch modal, swim lycra, stretch lace and stretch mesh. For breathability and comfort, use cotton, rayon or modal jersey for the crotch gusset.

Comfortable and customisable

I thought that sewing my own undies was unnecessary, since I had a TNT RTW brand/style. Then I started sewing bras, and wanted to make a matching panty. I tried drafting my own undies pattern, but I've switched totally to Anais. Really good style options available with the pattern, and easily customisable with stretch lace, which is what I use for my underwire bras. I've sewn three of View A, and have the mesh to sew View B. I graded between sizes for my waist v hip, and it was easy to do with this pattern. I'm hooked now because undies are such a quick yet fun and pretty sew, and these me made ones fit even better than RTW. This is a great pattern!

In Love!

My waist and hip measurements are 30 inches and 41 inches, respectively, and I graded between size 10 at the waist to size 12 at the hip. I made the midrise view B. My wearable muslin fits so well, it's just wearable! The instructions make it clear how to grade between sizes which made it so easy. Definitely the best fitting underwear that I have ever had. From start to finish, the sewing process took an hour and twenty minutes which included reading the instructions along the way. I used a regular machine for the entire process and got a clean finish without having to add in any additional seam finishes. I love this pattern and will be making many more!
