Cielo Top & Dress Pattern
Part of our Rome Collection, the Cielo Dress & Top is an easy, breezy take on a boxy tee and shift dress. Loaded with interesting details and interchangeable features, it will fast become a wardrobe-building favourite.
Choose between a semi-cropped top with a cuffed short sleeve (View A) or a dramatic gathered long sleeve (View B). Or, make an easy-fitting dress with sleek inseam pockets (View C), or without pockets (View D). All views have a slightly dropped shoulder, angled shoulder yoke and roomy fit, with a choice between an elegant bias binding or a faced neckline finish.

Recommended fabric:
- This pattern can be made with a variety of fabrics depending on the desired effect. For a more structured shape, use light to medium weight wovens such as linen, chambray, or cotton shirtings. For a drapier effect, use rayon challis, tencel, cotton voile or silk.

The top in our extended sizing (sizes 14-32) model has been cropped 1.5" shorter than the original pattern. All bottoms pictured are the Pietra Shorts pattern from our Rome Collection.

Love it! I particularly liked your well written directions.
I made this top on a linen fabric, top is easy to make and has good directions to follow. Modifications that I made were lowering direction of the darts to fit my bust hight and decrease the armhole 1/2 an inch for a petite adjustment
This was only the second top I have ever made, but the instructions were so clear and helpful I confidently made two Cielo tops with the cuffed short sleeve. The top itself is simply constructed but the details like the cuff and yoke evaluate it to something special..
About to make my second one. Am using cotton double gauze. Will add more length since my first one shrank up a little even though I prewashed the fabric. Easy pattern to adjust.
There's a reason this pattern is so popular - it's pure dynamite! Funny that such a seemly simple pattern has such impact, but it does. Guaranteed someone will complement my outfit each and everytime I wear it!
