Crisp, shiny, and just dramatic enough to swish when you walk.

Why You’ll Love It: Smooth and lightweight with a crisp structured drape, this rich aubergine taffeta catches the light beautifully and works especially well for voluminous shapes and layered effects.

 • How It’s Made: Polyester taffeta deadstock from the Cirque du Soleil costume department with a smooth hand and subtle sheen. Fabric is almost fully opaque but may require lining depending on the garment.

What To Make: Structured tops, occasion dresses, layers, voluminous skirts, costume-inspired details, or use as a beautiful lining fabric.

Care Instructions

Wash

Always pretreat fabric before sewing to remove chemical sizing from the manufacturing process. Pre-washing also gives you a better sense of the true drape and handfeel of a fabric. We recommend washing and drying fabric in the same way you intend to wash your finished garment. Be sure to separate brights and colours, as some dyes and prints may run the first few times you wash them.

Long-Term Care

Can be machine washed with warm or cool water, then dried on low. Remove from dryer as soon as fabric is dry.

Fabric Tips

Use a warm iron with press cloth.
