We searched far and wide for a more sustainable mesh knit, and were thrilled to discover this lightweight stretch mesh made from recycled polyester. With a fine mesh pattern, fluid drape and excellent recovery, it is an excellent choice for those projects that need a bit of sheer mesh action, like lingerie and swimwear. We especially recommend it for close-fitting bras and undies, since it feels great next to the skin and has lots of giving stretch. Best of all, every yard of this fabric diverts two plastic water bottles from the landfill!

This recycled polyester fabric is Oeko-Tex Standard 100 Certified, ensuring the recycled yarns are free of harmful substances. It is also bluesign® approved, meaning our family-owned supplier has used the best technologies and most responsible resources available to minimize the impact on people and the environment. Using recycled plastics helps divert these materials from landfills and consequently minimizes the amount that ends up in our oceans, which is harmful to marine life. In addition, the manufacturing process for these fabrics requires less water and energy than that of virgin fibres, and allows for lower greenhouse gas emissions.

Wash
Always pretreat fabric before sewing to remove chemical sizing from the manufacturing process. Pre-washing also gives you a better sense of the true drape and handfeel of a fabric. We recommend washing and drying fabric in the same way you intend to wash your finished garment. Be sure to separate brights and colours, as some dyes and prints may run the first few times you wash them.
Long-Term Care
Wash in cool water on the delicate cycle, and line dry. Do not tumble dry or bleach.
Fabric Tips
Avoid ironing if possible. While you can use a little well-placed steam if you are finding your seams behaving badly, a finger press will go just as far in most cases. Use a low iron when pressing.
