Crafted from 100% Lenzing Modal, this lightweight and drapey woven with a dobby texture offers a luxurious feel with its incredibly soft hand, pronounced weave, subtle sheen, and fluid drape. All in all, a beautifully textured alternative to drapey wovens like rayon challis or Tencel! Its eco-friendly credentials are just as impressive: Lenzing Modal is sourced from fast-growing beechwood trees, making it a highly sustainable choice. Even better, these modal fibers are 100% biodegradable in salt water, fresh water, and soil. This fabric is perfect for creating romantic blouses, sophisticated button-ups, swishy skirts, and elegant dresses of all kinds. Fully opaque, it doesn’t require a lining.

Care Instructions

Wash

Always pretreat fabric before sewing to remove chemical sizing from the manufacturing process. Pre-washing also gives you a better sense of the true drape and handfeel of a fabric. We recommend washing and drying fabric in the same way you intend to wash your finished garment. Be sure to separate brights and colours, as some dyes and prints may run the first few times you wash them.

Long-Term Care

Wash in cool water on the delicate cycle, and line dry or tumble dry on low. Finished garments should be hand washed with cool water to ensure minimal shrinkage.

Fabric Tips

Use an extra sharp pair of shears or rotary cutter and pattern weights to cut your fabric. Use a medium iron when pressing.
