Sizes: Currently available in sizes 0-20 only (print and PDF)

Recommended fabric

  • For the jacket body: medium to heavyweight suitings or lightweight coatings with surface texture such as wool melton, wool flannel, crepe and tweed. Velvet, medium-heavy weight cotton, seersucker and linen may also be used. Please note: tightly woven, smooth surfaced suitings like wool gabardine are not recommended since they can be difficult to fuse using an iron.
  • For the lining: rayon bemberg, charmeuse, crepe de chine, silky cottons like voile
  • For the pockets: sturdy cotton like shirting, quilting cotton or muslin (1/4 yd / 0.25 m)

Jasika Blazer

Several years ago, I purchased the paper Jasika Blazer pattern along with the fabric and assorted interfacings. I slaved to trace all of the correct pattern pieces for my size and constructed a muslin. Then I lost a lot of weight. The thought of struggling to identify the correct lines and retrace all of the pattern pieces a second time was too much so I sat with everything stored away in my fabric closet. Then I got the idea that I didn't have to trace all of the pattern pieces out again. I could just order the layered .pdf. So that's what I did. I only just recently finished taping all of the pages together. Hoping I'll actually finish the blazer this time.

I’m in the process of sewing the Jasika Blazer and am very pleased with how it is coming together. I made two small adjustments based on a muslin. The fitting ebook was very helpful. The tutorial along with the printed instructions are excellent. I’m using a charcoal midweight cotton twill with a Cupro lining both purchased from Core Fabrics. Actually can’t wait to finish this one and start another!

I’ve been looking for a pattern that is just a really classic blazer. The Jasika fit the bill. I might have to pay for the tutorial too. There is so much I don’t know about making a fine blazer. Fun times to come!!

A great pattern!

I feel super proud of making this and I love the result. Excited to make more. Fitting and sizing advice was great. There were a few steps that I got really confused on and wished had been illustrated. I’m glad that I’ve made many collared things and a few lightweight jackets before, it definitely helped get through it.

I really love this pattern but I have not made it yet. I am planning to start when it gets cooler. Can't sew here in summer, no AC and too hot!
