Elodie is a modern take on a classic wrap dress. Romantic and flowy with multiple skirt and sleeve options, it’s equally appropriate at a park picnic or a special wedding.

Elodie features a softly flowing bodice, with release pleats under the bust and a dolman style sleeve. Choose between a short sleeve or a longer, more formal option that ends at the elbow. The skirt is swishy and voluminous and comes in three lengths, above the knee, midi or maxi, with optional patch pockets.

Sizes: 0-20 (print and PDF) and 14-32 (PDF)

Recommended fabricElodie can be made in a wide variety of fabrics. Light to medium weight wovens like linen, cotton poplin, batiste, voile and chambray will have a more casual feel. Choose a drapey woven like silk, viscose, tencel or rayon challis for a more elegant or fluid effect.

Elodie Wrap Dress

I still have to finished the hem and handsew the waistband but I have tried the dress on and I love it. It is very flattering, the way it wraps and then falls smoothly into a swishy skirt. I will be making this again!

Wedding

I’ll be making the Elodie dress pattern in the beautiful Sandwashed Cupro for a wedding in early May and the Core T-shirt in the red cotton. Can hardly wait to get started. Your product, knowledge and superior service make you my absolute go to fabric shop. I’m hoping to be in Montreal sometime later this year and will definitely call to see if I might visit. Thanks so much.

Effortlessly beautiful

My original intention was to make a perfect vacation dress, but this was so flattering that I wore it for my anniversary dinner date. I made View B (long sleeves, midi skirt) with a rayon poplin in a large print. The construction was well detailed, the fit is flattering, and appearance is so beautiful.

Construction: I used fell flat seams instead of French and it added time to the project, but the finished look proved that it was worthwhile. The collar length was too short by nearly an inch, so I'll extend it next time to ensure it's secured by the waistband seam. The only part that got confusing was the belt, so I found a quick sew-along and easily completed it after that.

Fit: I feel utterly comfortable and secure wearing it. The sizing is quite forgiving. I'm 5'8" and 160#, made the size 12. My teen is 5'5" and 115 tried it on and it looked fine on her, too.

Appearance: It looks effortlessly beautiful and chic.

Elodie Wrap dress pattern and fabric

I have not had a chance to make the dress. However, the perfect match fabric recommendation from Core is ideal for the pattern. I hesitate buying fabric online because I do like to see the color in person and feel the weight and flow of the fabric. I was not disappointed! The vibrant color, feel and drape are exactly as seen on Core website and Core YouTube video! Looking forward to seeing this dress.

Great dress

I like this pattern alot. I'm about 20 weeks pregnant so I bought it to make some maternity dresses, I just had to cheat the bodice up a bit and it worked great for what I needed.

Loved being taught the French seam, it's a really nice finish. All and all pretty easy to follow, I will say the standard busy size is pretty big. Even pregnant it's a bit too large for me, but I'm not at the level to really know how to grade a bust on my own.
