Take your handmade loungewear to the next level with this ultra-soft organic cotton knit ribbing, proudly made in Montréal, Canada! With a touch of spandex, its subtle rib texture provides just the right amount of stretch and excellent recovery. Since most knit projects only need a small amount, we offer it in quarter-yard increments—just the right size for cuffs, neckbands, or ankle trims. Need more? Simply add additional pieces for a continuous cut. You can even use it as a main fabric for stretchy, fitted garments like tank tops or knit dresses!
This fabric is made from organic cotton whose production reduces the amount of water pollution via soil erosion and nutrient leaching compared to conventional cotton production. Organic cotton production relies mainly on rainwater, and is often interplanted with other crops, so significantly reduces water use and improves biodiversity.

Wash
Always pretreat fabric before sewing to remove chemical sizing from the manufacturing process. Pre-washing also gives you a better sense of the true drape and handfeel of a fabric. We recommend washing and drying fabric in the same way you intend to wash your finished garment. Be sure to separate brights and colours, as some dyes and prints may run the first few times you wash them. You can add half a cup to one cup of vinegar to the final rinse cycle to help set the colours and minimize bleeding. It’s important to wash and dry cotton to remove any potential shrinkage down the road.
Long-Term Care
Cotton/synthetic blends may shrink excessively when exposed to high heat. Machine wash in cool water and tumble dry on low.
Fabric Tips
Use a medium iron with a pressing cloth. We recommend starting your project with a brand new ballpoint or stretch needle.
