It's probably me, but I find it impossible to create a decent pair of snaps. I manage to always wreck the spring function. If I do get one right, I cannot count on repeating the operation. To my regret, I will have to stay with buttonholes -- or find someone with better hand coordination to help.

What is the anvil with the raised part used for? I read the tutorial mentioned here and it doesn't use it. This photo shows my understanding of how each tool is used. (and I believe the photo shows an old version of a tool included)
