This cupro blend is a textile lover’s dream. Similar in hand and feel to sandwashed silk, we love its ethereal floatiness and elegant drape. With a soft, sueded texture and slight sheen, it's an absolute joy to handle and wear. Produced from regenerated cellulose fibre from cotton waste, cupro is breathable and regulates temperature like classic cotton. Use it for any lightweight garment, from floaty dresses, blouses, wide-legged pants and lingerie. Fully opaque, no lining is needed for this fabric.

Always pretreat fabric before sewing to remove chemical sizing from the manufacturing process. Pre-washing also gives you a better sense of the true drape and handfeel of a fabric. We recommend washing and drying fabric in the same way you intend to wash your finished garment. Be sure to separate brights and colours, as some dyes and prints may run the first few times you wash them.

Cupro has a tendency to shrink quite a bit, so we suggest washing at least once to remove as much shrinkage before sewing. Wash in cool water on the delicate cycle, and line dry or tumble dry on low. Finished garments should be hand washed with cool water to ensure minimal shrinkage. Use a medium iron when pressing.

Lovely, but...

This IS lovely fabric but, I found it a little tricky to work with. I'm not a beginner; I'd call myself intermediate. I'm rating this four instead of five because after reading so many glowing reviews I decided I had to have this fabric, but I also want to let potential buyers know what to expect. (After working with it I went back and re-read the reviews and discovered many of the reviewers had not actually sewn it up yet.) It is slippery- no problem. I straightened the grain and pinned the fabric to paper to cut out. It wrinkles easily but irons well - with a press cloth and mid temp iron. It has no ease what so ever, so attaching the collar on the shirt I made was tedious. I think if you choose your pattern wisely and you are patient and meticulous you'll be rewarded with a lovely garment. I made the Style Arc Monty shirt but I don't think it was the best pairing; the simpler the pattern the better. I see they recommend the CC Amy jumpsuit which would be a great choice

Deep Ocean is such a gorgeous color! The fabric is soft and drapes beautifully. Can't wait to finish the blouse I have planned for it.

So beautiful!

Cupro is a dream to sew with and comfortable to wear. I made a bias skirt and I love it!

Swishy suede-y

I made my first Amy jumpsuit in the ink colorway and am in love. I wore it to a wedding and received lots of compliments. It was much easier to sew than I thought it would be since it isn’t as slippery as silk. I did use tissue paper on the most visible seams to prevent marks from my machines feed dogs. I love the sueded texture and the swish. Super happy with this fabric!

Soft & stunning

This fabric is so soft and supple! The only negative I have is that it gets a bit wrinkly, but it’s fast to iron and I like the texture. The colors are beautifully rich but almost “dusty”. I paired the magenta and papaya for a color blocked skirt. It’s so comfy and cute
