This cupro blend is a textile lover’s dream. Similar in hand and feel to sandwashed silk, we love its ethereal floatiness and elegant drape. With a soft, sueded texture and slight sheen, it's an absolute joy to handle and wear. Produced from regenerated cellulose fibre from cotton waste, cupro is breathable and regulates temperature like classic cotton. Use it for any lightweight garment, from floaty dresses, blouses, wide-legged pants and lingerie. Fully opaque, no lining is needed for this fabric.

Always pretreat fabric before sewing to remove chemical sizing from the manufacturing process. Pre-washing also gives you a better sense of the true drape and handfeel of a fabric. We recommend washing and drying fabric in the same way you intend to wash your finished garment. Be sure to separate brights and colours, as some dyes and prints may run the first few times you wash them.

Cupro has a tendency to shrink quite a bit, so we suggest washing at least once to remove as much shrinkage before sewing. Wash in cool water on the delicate cycle, and line dry or tumble dry on low. Finished garments should be hand washed with cool water to ensure minimal shrinkage. Use a medium iron when pressing.

Swishy suede-y

I made my first Amy jumpsuit in the ink colorway and am in love. I wore it to a wedding and received lots of compliments. It was much easier to sew than I thought it would be since it isn’t as slippery as silk. I did use tissue paper on the most visible seams to prevent marks from my machines feed dogs. I love the sueded texture and the swish. Super happy with this fabric!

Soft & stunning

This fabric is so soft and supple! The only negative I have is that it gets a bit wrinkly, but it’s fast to iron and I like the texture. The colors are beautifully rich but almost “dusty”. I paired the magenta and papaya for a color blocked skirt. It’s so comfy and cute

Love this fabric!

Vibrant color, excellent drape. A little slippery to work with and doesn’t like a hot iron, but the end result is stunning. I want it in every color!

Love!

I’ve loved Cupro since I learned about it in design school, so when I was selecting a lining fabric for my wedding dress it was a no-brainer! So happy to have found this company; not only is it super high quality and great to work with but the color was perfect.

Beautiful but hard to sew

Feels very luxurious! Has a soft, cool touch. Very fluid with a beautiful drape.
But it is quite difficult to sew as it is very slippery
