Care Instructions

Wash

Always pretreat fabric before sewing to remove chemical sizing from the manufacturing process. Pre-washing also gives you a better sense of the true drape and handfeel of a fabric. We recommend washing and drying fabric in the same way you intend to wash your finished garment. Be sure to separate brights and colours, as some dyes and prints may run the first few times you wash them. You can add half a cup to one cup of vinegar to the final rinse cycle to help set the colours and minimize bleeding. It’s important to wash and dry cotton to remove any potential shrinkage down the road.

Long-Term Care

Machine wash in warm water and tumble dry on medium or hot.

Fabric Tips

You can use a hot iron when pressing cotton. You can use sharp point universal needles to sew your projects. We recommend starting your project with a brand new needle.

Just what I was looking fo

I have not made my pants yet. But the texture, weight and feel of the tumbled non stretch cotton is just what I was looking for to replicate a pair of capris I purchased a few years ago.

Loved the Kit - Fabric Meh

I really am grateful to start a project with ALL the necessary tools. I purchased this kit along with the pants class to make Mitchell. The fabric was a dream to work with.

I’m not really a fan of “tumbled” look of the cotton and felt that for these pants I would have preferred a pant with a little more body/weight to the drape.

I don’t know if this is the fabric that was used on the original pants featured when announced, but felt like it could have used a lining or something.

Having said that, the class was good and the pants came out great. They won’t be one I’ll want to pull out all the time though because of the fabric choice.

A pleasure to sew with!

This tumbled cotton is a wonderful find - the weight is perfect for a variety of garment types and I found it super-easy to sew with. I made a pair of Pietra wide-leg pants and am very happy with them.

All the fabric I have purchased from core fabrics has been excellent! Sewed up the pietra pants with the tumbled cotton!

Very pleased with the products. I haven’t had a chance to use them yet. Having trouble finding pants pattern.
