Our Tuscany Toile Print Japanese Cotton Lawn is a Japanese-milled, lightweight 100% cotton with a smooth hand and a crisp drape. The print is the showstopper! Delicate indigo toile de Jouy illustrations of the Tuscany we daydream about with cypress-lined lanes, romanesque architecture, farmhouse cottages and olive groves rendered in fine, engraved-style vignettes. From afar it reads as a refined, graphic texture; up close each scene is charming and quietly nostalgic. Light and breathable, this lawn is ideal for button-ups, shirtdresses, elevated tops, and pajamas. Almost fully opaque, lining won’t be needed for most uses.

Care Instructions

Wash

Always pretreat fabric before sewing to remove chemical sizing from the manufacturing process. Pre-washing also gives you a better sense of the true drape and handfeel of a fabric. We recommend washing and drying fabric in the same way you intend to wash your finished garment. Be sure to separate brights and colours, as some dyes and prints may run the first few times you wash them.

Long-Term Care

It’s important to wash and dry cotton to remove any potential shrinkage down the road. Machine wash in warm water and tumble dry on medium or hot. More delicate cottons like voile, double gauze or embroidered cottons should be washed by hand or on the delicate cycle.

Use a hot iron when pressing.

Orders outside of Canada are subject to customs and duties and are the sole responsibility of the customer. Any applicable Duties and Tariffs are collected at checkout and packages are shipped DDP (Delivery Duty Paid)
