If you're looking for an easy-to-sew cotton suitable for a wide range of projects, look no further! Similar to our old Textured Cotton line in weight and hand but with less surface texture, this midweight cotton has a soft, matte, tumbled finish we can't help but caress. Available in a variety of sophisticated, muted shades, it's the ideal canvas for all your sewing ideas. With a crisp hand, it’s a lovely all-purpose workhorse, suitable for all kinds of garments – dresses, pants, skirts, tops, jumpsuits, you name it! Fully opaque, no lining is needed for this fabric.
This fabric is made from 100% cotton. Unlike many synthetic materials, garments made of natural fibres don"t contribute to microplastics pollution throughout their lifespan. In addition, natural fibres are biodegradable, meaning they break down naturally once they"ve reached the end of their useful life and provide an option which is kinder to the planet.
Long lifespan + No microplastics from washing

Wash
Always pretreat fabric before sewing to remove chemical sizing from the manufacturing process. Pre-washing also gives you a better sense of the true drape and handfeel of a fabric. We recommend washing and drying fabric in the same way you intend to wash your finished garment. Be sure to separate brights and colours, as some dyes and prints may run the first few times you wash them. You can add half a cup to one cup of vinegar to the final rinse cycle to help set the colours and minimize bleeding. It’s important to wash and dry cotton to remove any potential shrinkage down the road.
Long-Term Care
Machine wash in warm water and tumble dry on medium or hot.
Fabric Tips
You can use a hot iron when pressing cotton. You can use sharp point universal needles to sew your projects. We recommend starting your project with a brand new needle.

I think this is my fave fabric to sew. It’s definitely one of my top 5 of all time to wear! Also washes like a dream and is really hard-wearing. I have made a pair of Bisque Trousers (Vivian Chen) with it that I reach for over and over again as well as a pair of Fancy Pants (Tropical Research). Can’t recommend highly enough.
I used the tumbled cotton for a big, light-weight, floppy tote bag. The fabric sewed up great and it turned out exactly as I had pictured. Would definitely buy this again for other projects!
The colour is just like in the picture and it's beautiful. I feel special in my Papao wrap pants by Readytosew.
Lovely hand, stable and sturdy but still has a lovely drape. Colour was completely accurate.
A really nice medium weight with a nice drape, easy to work with, colour is accurate. I love it and would purchase again. I made two Wicksten Smock dresses with it.
