Lightweight 100% viscose challis with large coffee, cream & black stripes; fluid drape, smooth cool hand, nearly opaque—ideal for blouses, flowy dresses, and robes.


This Stripe Viscose Challis features bold, generously scaled stripes in coffee, cream, and black printed on a lightweight 100% viscose base woven in Europe. Viscose challis is loved for its fluid, flowing drape and soft, smooth hand that feels cool to the touch, allowing garments to move with a gentle, liquid ease. The fabric falls beautifully with a relaxed, floaty movement that works especially well in silhouettes that benefit from graceful drape. Despite its airy weight, this fabric is almost fully opaque, so lining is not required for most applications. The smooth surface keeps the bold stripe crisp and graphic while maintaining the soft, supple character viscose is known for. Ideal for blouses, flowy dresses, and robes.

Care Instructions

Wash

Always pretreat fabric before sewing to remove chemical sizing from the manufacturing process. Pre-washing also gives you a better sense of the true drape and handfeel of a fabric. We recommend washing and drying fabric in the same way you intend to wash your finished garment. Be sure to separate brights and colours, as some dyes and prints may run the first few times you wash them.

Long-Term Care

Wash in cool water on the delicate cycle, and line dry or tumble dry on low. Finished garments should be hand washed with cool water to ensure minimal shrinkage.

Fabric Tips

Use an extra sharp pair of shears or rotary cutter and pattern weights to cut your fabric. Use a medium iron when pressing.

From our studio in beautiful Montreal, Canada, we are delighted to ship to makers worldwide. Shipping is free on Canadian and US orders over $150.

Orders outside of Canada are subject to customs and duties and are the sole responsibility of the customer. Any applicable Duties and Tariffs are collected at checkout and packages are shipped DDP (Delivery Duty Paid)
