We love a windowpane check motif around here, and fell head over heels for this handpainted interpretation. Reminding us of a beautiful watercolour plaid (something the world needs more of!), it's the perfect combination of looseness + order. Made with FSC-certified viscose and Oeko-Tex STeP certified, this light, buttery soft viscose is a treat to wear. Its fluid drape makes it perfect for unstructured garments: dresses and skirts are a no-brainer, but so are drapey blouses and palazzo pants. Nearly fully opaque, it does not require a lining.

Care Instructions

Wash

Always pretreat fabric before sewing to remove chemical sizing from the manufacturing process. Pre-washing also gives you a better sense of the true drape and handfeel of a fabric. We recommend washing and drying fabric in the same way you intend to wash your finished garment. Be sure to separate brights and colours, as some dyes and prints may run the first few times you wash them.

Long-Term Care

Wash in cool water on the delicate cycle, and line dry or tumble dry on low. Finished garments should be hand washed with cool water to ensure minimal shrinkage.

Fabric Tips

Use an extra sharp pair of shears or rotary cutter and pattern weights to cut your fabric. Use a medium iron when pressing.

From our studio in beautiful Montreal, Canada, we are delighted to ship to makers worldwide. Shipping is free on U.S. and Canadian orders over $150. U.S. and Canadian orders ship in 3-7 business days, and international orders take between 12-40 days. All additional customs and duties that may be collected at the border are the sole responsibility of the customer.
