Elevate your handmade loungewear with our gorgeous 2x2 rib knit, crafted from a blend of Tencel, organic cotton, and a touch of spandex. Designed for a polished, professional finish, each colour is perfectly matched to our Stretch French Terry of the same name, allowing you to mix and match effortlessly. This rib knit is tubular, knitted in the round, and measures 48 cm (19") wide (96.5 cm (38") when cut open). Since most knit projects require only small amounts, we offer it in convenient quarter-yard increments—perfect for wrist or ankle cuffs and neckbands. Need more? Simply add additional increments to your order, and we'll provide a continuous cut.
Sold in quarter-metre increments. Fabric is tubular at 48 cm (19") wide (96.5 cm (38") wide if cut open).
Lyocell is a next-generation cellulose fibre. This means that the process to manufacture it is much more environmentally-friendly than viscose, rayon or cupro. Not only is it sourced from renewable sources (trees) that do not require pesticides, fertilizers or irrigation, but it is processed via a low energy, low water, closed-loop system that recycles over 99.5% of the chemicals/solvents used in production. Also, the fabric is highly durable (it is used in conveyor belts) and long lasting.

Wash
Always pretreat fabric before sewing to remove chemical sizing from the manufacturing process. Pre-washing also gives you a better sense of the true drape and handfeel of a fabric. We recommend washing and drying fabric in the same way you intend to wash your finished garment. Be sure to separate brights and colours, as some dyes and prints may run the first few times you wash them.
Long-Term Care
Wash in cool water on the delicate cycle, and line dry or tumble dry on low. Finished garments should be hand washed with cool water to ensure minimal shrinkage.
Fabric Tips
Use a medium iron with a pressing cloth. We recommend starting your project with a brand new ballpoint or stretch needle.
