Luxurious 14-wale organic cotton corduroy with a touch of stretch—perfect for creating timeless pants, skirts, and jackets.

Velvety, refined, and endlessly wearable, this 14-wale organic cotton corduroy is pure sewing royalty. With its fine ribs and soft hand, it offers that plush, elegant texture we all love, paired with a beautifully structured drape. Woven from 98% certified organic cotton and 2% Lycra, it adds just the right hint of stretch for everyday comfort without losing its tailored feel. At 330 gsm (9.74 oz/yd²), it’s substantial and fully opaque, ideal for pants, dungarees, skirts, structured dresses, and jackets that call for both durability and polish. The name corduroy may not truly mean “cord of the king,” but one thing’s for sure — this fabric will make anything you sew feel fit for one.

Care Instructions

Wash

Always pretreat fabric before sewing to remove chemical sizing from the manufacturing process. Pre-washing also gives you a better sense of the true drape and handfeel of a fabric. We recommend washing and drying fabric in the same way you intend to wash your finished garment. Be sure to separate brights and colours, as some dyes and prints may run the first few times you wash them. You can add half a cup to one cup of vinegar to the final rinse cycle to help set the colours and minimize bleeding. It’s important to wash and dry cotton to remove any potential shrinkage down the road.

Long-Term Care

Machine wash in warm water and tumble dry on medium or hot.

Fabric Tips

You can use a hot iron when pressing cotton. You can use sharp point universal needles to sew your projects. We recommend starting your project with a brand new needle.
