Look no further – the linen of your dreams is here. With an exceptional drape, hand, texture and weave, it’s destined to be your new favourite everyday, every-way fabric. Our range of midweight linen is produced in Europe using European flax fibers in an Oeko-Tex 100 certified mill, and we’re thrilled to include it in our Core Collection of quality textiles. It features a versatile midweight that works equally well for soft, casual looks and more tailored applications and has been pre-softened/washed so it’s incredibly soft off the roll - it will only get better with age and wear*. While it holds a crisp edge when pressed, it also has a deliciously springy drape and a pronounced, slightly rustic weave.

Linen is naturally resilient, breathable, hypo-allergenic, anti-bacterial, and durable. It is incredibly easy to sew with and care for, not to mention delightful to wear due to its thermoregulating properties, keeping you cool in summer and warm in winter. This linen will work for a wide variety of garments from tops, button-downs, dresses and jumpsuits to casual jackets and relaxed trousers. Fully opaque, it does not require a lining.

*To provide you with the most accurate fabric description, we ran a test wash and are happy to report that we didn’t experience any colour bleeding or fading and that the fabric got even softer to the touch after only washing it once. Please scroll to the last picture to see the unpressed laundered linen! We love the inherent natural creases and crumples; they are what give linen its relaxed, soft feel.

Care Instructions

Wash

Always pretreat fabric before sewing to remove chemical sizing from the manufacturing process. Pre-washing also gives you a better sense of the true drape and handfeel of a fabric. We recommend washing and drying fabric in the same way you intend to wash your finished garment. Be sure to separate brights and colours, as some dyes and prints may run the first few times you wash them.

Long-Term Care

Linen can withstand high heat when washing and drying. Choose warm or hot water when machine washing (choose a cooler temperature for colours). Tumble dry on hot, and remove when slightly damp to help eliminate wrinkles.

Fabric Tips

Press your fabric before cutting out your pattern pieces. Use a hot iron when pressing.

From our studio in beautiful Montreal, Canada, we are delighted to ship to makers worldwide. Shipping is free on Canadian and US orders over $150.

We ship globally! Non Canadian and US orders and orders under 150$ are calculated by weight.

Orders outside of Canada are subject to customs and duties and are the sole responsibility of the customer. Orders to the US under 800$ are duty-free.

Beautiful quality linen

I used this gorgeous linen in deep teal to make my mother of the groom dress for my son's late June wedding (with Bemberg lining also from Core Fabrics) and I couldn't have been happier. I threw it into the wash and dried it in the dryer before starting and it barely wrinkled at all! I bought some more (raspberry) to make a friend a summer dress and she is equally thrilled. Fantastic stuff! I want all the colours now.

Beautiful Linen

This has a substantial feel without feeling heavy. I've washed and prepped but haven't sewn it yet, as I'm still deciding which pattern I'm going to make with this, but it was too lovely a color to pass up.
