Midweight cotton canvas in pale teal + white large check; structured drape, substantial hand, nearly opaque—ideal for pants and light jackets.

This deadstock fabric from Canadian indie designer Bodybag by Jude is a midweight cotton canvas woven in a fresh large-scale check of pale teal and white. The cotton fibre offers breathable durability and a natural, slightly textured hand, while the canvas weave delivers a structured, supportive feel that holds its shape beautifully. With a firm drape and architectural presence, it feels substantial without tipping into heaviness, making it especially well suited to garments that benefit from clean lines and defined silhouettes. The surface has a grounded touch. Almost fully opaque and not requiring a lining for most applications, it’s an excellent choice for pants, light jackets, overshirts, and structured accessories.

Care Instructions

Wash

Always pretreat fabric before sewing to remove chemical sizing from the manufacturing process. Pre-washing also gives you a better sense of the true drape and handfeel of a fabric. We recommend washing and drying fabric in the same way you intend to wash your finished garment. Be sure to separate brights and colours, as some dyes and prints may run the first few times you wash them.

Long-Term Care

It’s important to wash and dry cotton to remove any potential shrinkage down the road. Machine wash in warm water and tumble dry on medium or hot. More delicate cottons like voile, double gauze or embroidered cottons should be washed by hand or on the delicate cycle.

Fabric Tips

Use a hot iron when pressing.
