Midweight cotton broadcloth with Ghanaian batik large coral dots on blue, fully opaque with a soft smooth hand and lightly crisp structure—ideal for shirts, skirts, and dresses.

Hand-batiked with care and precision!

Why You’ll Love It: Midweight with a lightly crisp, supportive structure, soft and smooth hand, and vibrant coral dots scattered across a rich blue ground, visible on both sides.

How It’s Made: 100% cotton broadcloth, hand-batiked in Ghana using a traditional wax-resist process—wax is applied by hand in a large-scale dot pattern before dyeing, then removed to reveal the design, making each batch uniquely crafted.

What To Make: Shirts, skirts, dresses, and relaxed trousers.

Please note that due to the artisanal production process, this fabric is made in 5-metre pieces. If you order more than 5 metres, your fabric will be delivered in multiple cuts rather than one continuous length. As each piece is handcrafted, no two are exactly the same, with slight variations in colour and pattern that make every fabric unique.

Care Instructions

Wash

Always pretreat fabric before sewing to remove chemical sizing from the manufacturing process. Pre-washing also gives you a better sense of the true drape and handfeel of a fabric. We recommend washing and drying fabric in the same way you intend to wash your finished garment. Be sure to separate brights and colours, as some dyes and prints may run the first few times you wash them. You can add half a cup to one cup of vinegar to the final rinse cycle to help set the colours and minimize bleeding. It’s important to wash and dry cotton to remove any potential shrinkage down the road.

Long-Term Care

Wash this cotton by hand or machine in warm water, tumble dry on medium or hot, and do not bleach.

Fabric Tips

You can use a hot iron when pressing cotton. You can use sharp point universal needles to sew your projects. We recommend starting your project with a brand new needle.
