Sometimes, we strike gold with truly special designer deadstock, and this cotton voile designed by The Kooples is one of those treasures. Its large-scale, Marimekko-inspired floral print is simply stunning! Lightweight with a gentle drape and a smooth hand, this voile is perfect for creating striking button-up shirts, tie-front blouses, or statement dresses that feel as good as they look. Almost fully opaque, it doesn’t require a lining for most projects.
In the fashion industry, deadstock refers to fabrics that are either surplus or left over from production, including high-quality designer textiles. By sourcing deadstock fabrics, we are giving them a new lease on life and keeping them out of landfills.
Biodegradable
Wash
Always pretreat fabric before sewing to remove chemical sizing from the manufacturing process. Pre-washing also gives you a better sense of the true drape and handfeel of a fabric. We recommend washing and drying fabric in the same way you intend to wash your finished garment. Be sure to separate brights and colours, as some dyes and prints may run the first few times you wash them.
Long-Term Care
It’s important to wash and dry cotton to remove any potential shrinkage down the road. Machine wash in warm water and tumble dry on medium or hot. More delicate cottons like voile, double gauze or embroidered cottons should be washed by hand or on the delicate cycle.
Fabric Tips
Use a hot iron when pressing.

I used this fabric for a relaxed, gathered midi dress. It washed up well and was a dream to sew. I know when I wear the dress out I will get compliments because the fabric is so unique.
This deadstock cotton is absolutely stunning! I haven’t sewn with it yet, but just seeing it fills me with joy every time! The quality is superb, it’s a tightly woven, smooth cotton with sharp and bright colours.
This fabric has lovely intense colours and a soft hand. Will sew up beautifully into a summer top. Core fabrics always exceeds expectations.
