Marigold midweight quilted lining in bordeaux, with a smooth satin face backed by interlining. A warm lining for jackets, coats, and vests.

A flash of bordeaux every time you unbutton.

  • Why You'll Love It: Smooth and glossy on the outside, cozy on the inside. The shiny satin face glides easily over sweaters and layers, while the quilted interlining adds warmth and gentle body. The rich bordeaux makes for a gorgeous surprise tucked inside your outerwear.
  • How It's Made: Deadstock polyester fabric locally sourced from indie designer Marigold. A satin layer quilted onto an interlining.
  • What To Make: Linings for jackets, coats, and vests, or any outerwear project that could use extra warmth and a slick, easy-on finish. Fully opaque.

Deadstock

Designer Textiles from Montreal

This deadstock fabric comes from MARIGOLD par Marilyne Baril, which has been making high-quality pieces since 2014, all designed and made right here in Montreal by local artisans. Marilyne is a champion of slow fashion. She chooses her suppliers with care, pays close attention to where her materials come from, and believes local production is the best way to support fair working conditions and lighten fashion’s footprint. She’s even taken transparency a step further: every MARIGOLD garment comes with a “transparent label” that breaks down exactly what went into its price.

Care Instructions

Wash

Always pretreat fabric before sewing to remove chemical sizing from the manufacturing process. Pre-washing also gives you a better sense of the true drape and handfeel of a fabric. We recommend washing and drying fabric in the same way you intend to wash your finished garment. Be sure to separate brights and colours, as some dyes and prints may run the first few times you wash them.

Long-Term Care

Wash in cool water on the delicate cycle, and line dry. Do not tumble dry or bleach.

Fabric Tips

Avoid ironing if possible. While you can use a little well-placed steam if you are finding your seams behaving badly, a finger press will go just as far in most cases. Use a low iron when pressing.
