We're deeply excited about this one-of-a-kind midweight viscose-linen blend! With a gently textured weave, cozy soft hand, and extraordinary drape, this delight of a fabric is what happens when the best qualities of viscose and linen have a magical baby. How so? Imagine the fluid, heavy drape of viscose combined with the breathability, texture, and heft of linen - the result is your new favourite fabric. Easy to care for and an utter delight to sew, it's a gorgeous choice for your next project. Super-versatile because of its weight, it can work for a wide variety of garments, from flowy trousers to caftans, jumpsuits and shirtdresses. Fully opaque, it does not require a lining.

Always pretreat fabric before sewing to remove chemical sizing from the manufacturing process. Pre-washing also gives you a better sense of the true drape and handfeel of a fabric. We recommend washing and drying fabric in the same way you intend to wash your finished garment. Be sure to separate brights and colours, as some dyes and prints may run the first few times you wash them.

Viscose, rayon, and tencel have a tendency to shrink quite a bit, so we suggest washing at least once to remove as much shrinkage before sewing. Wash in cool water on the delicate cycle, and line dry or tumble dry on low. Finished garments should be hand washed with cool water to ensure minimal shrinkage. Use a medium iron when pressing.

Textured viscose linen.

It's beautiful, but not right for my project. Actually, TOO drapey and heavy.

Lovely drape and perfect weight

I wanted to make a simple shirt in a longer length for every day wear with my skinny jeans. I sewed this one using the viscose linen fabric. It has a lovely drape and the perfect weight and I get compliments whenever I wear it. I’ll be making more in different colours.

Beautiful material that was easy to sew. Made a beautiful skirt.

This fabric is everything that I always hope new linen will be. Beautiful drape, really soft, breathable, and super comfy texture. I used it to make a dress (along with the hemp buttons) and I know it’s going to be on repeat all summer.

Everything about this fabric is wonderful. The drape is perfect for my dress with a full skirt. I am a seasoned sewer, but wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to a ‘beginner’ given how easy this fabric is to handle. The colour is beautiful.
